Thanksgiving and American History
About the unit plan
You probably already know how American holidays like Halloween and Valentine's Day are celebrated. But what about Thanksgiving? Look at the picture above. Thanksgiving is a tradition that dates back to the first meeting between Europeans and Native Americans.
In this unit, you will learn about the Thanksgiving tradition and the story behind it. You will read different texts using reading guides and teach your classmates about the things you have read. You will also listen to a description of the Pilgrims' journey from Europe. Finally, you will write your own Thanksgiving role-play and play Pilgrims or Native Americans.
