Films
Cher is a good-natured but, in fact, rather clueless teenager whose life revolves around shopping, looks and her credit card. She tries to play matchmaker for teachers and friends, but finding her own love takes quite a while. The film is a little superficial, but rather amusing, and will give you an impression of life at an American high school. Ages 12 and up.
Juno, Canadian-American comedy drama from 2007, directed by Jason Reitman.
Juno gets pregnant after having sex for the first time with her boyfriend, Paulie. It is clear to her that she cannot keep the baby, but she is unable to face an abortion either. With the help of her best friend, she finds a successful couple with a burning desire to become parents. As Juno's pregnancy goes on, both she and her baby's future parents learn valuable lessons on love, responsibility and trust. Do not miss out on this funny, quirky and entirely loveable film! Ages 12 and up.
The Wonder Years, American TV comedy-drama, 1988-1993, created by Neal Marlens and Carol Black.
We started this topic with a reference to The Wonder Years, so it is only natural to round up with the show as well. Follow Kevin Arnold's life in the '60s and '70s, from age 12 to 17. You may find much of the setting rather old-fashioned, but it is, in fact, a true TV classic and one you should not miss out on. All ages.
