Which Path to Take
You are at Strausberg metro station and are trying to make your way towards the city center, closer to the Palast der Republik. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Think again! Your informants have told you that there are police checkpoints along the way, so certain sections need to be avoided. Can you find a safe way into the city? Mr. Moth has provided you with clues to the right path.
1. Work together in groups of three. Play the tape you found in your envelope to learn more about the path into the city.
- You can listen to the tape several times.
2. While listening, take notes in the text box below. Pay attention to:
- what is being said on the tape
- which names, cities and terms are being mentioned.
3. Talk about what these names, cities and terms could mean. How could they be converted into a safe path into the city?
4. Look at the metro map. Can you convert the message into the right path?
